BOBBI BROWN 6 COLOR LIP PALETTE (WOW!)

I have not tried the Lip Palette that my Fiance helped me collect when it flew in last Friday 19 Nov 2010 but I must say I couldn't take my eyes off these colors. It is b####dy true that Bobbi Brown makes the BEST colors of course! You can have shades of brown, pink blue, but to me somehow Bobby Brown has the knack of discovering the best covers that stays on women: fair or dark skinned. I mean: just look at those GORGEOUS HUES above and you know what i am talking about. You can hardly find such hues and textures in any other brands.

I was skeptical about this creamy blush as I bought it because I miss my long-time Kose Bronze Creamy Blush companion with Superb Silver Packaging, now discontinued. I am a lover of creamy blush and can't find it anywhere, but discovered this one when ordering my 6 color lip palette (above ). I started to use it today and wow, the scent was fantastic, the color stayed on, and best of all, the lip color (though called PALE PINK) is not pale pink at all! It is a Proper Lip color which can be used as a CHEEK color. For once, Bobby makes it right. It is not one of those disappointingly looks nice but turns out to be too light kind of cosmetics which I had expected it to be before applying it with my special brush.

ELIZABETH ARDEN RED DOOR BEAUTY SET FOR ONLY $85

YOU CAN GET ALL THESE: 3 LIPSTICKS (FULL SIZE, EACH USU $30+), 12 EYE COLORS SOME OF WHICH ARE COMPARABLE OR EVEN NICER THAN ESTEE LAUDER'S GLAMOUR IS GOLDEN. PLUS 2 eyeliners, 2 sexy lip glosses + 1 clear lip gloss (I like it, it goes over any color unaffected!)

I will post more closeups over the next few days, and tomorrow, I will post Bobby Brown under a different day's post.

WHEN I WAS CONTEMPLATING WHETHER THE COLORS ARE WORTH MY INVESTING SINCE I GOT GLAMOUR IS GOLDEN, I BEGAN TO RESEARCH ALL OVER THE NET FOR REVIEWS ON THE E ARDEN RED DOOR SET. Unfortunately, reviews are as few as Glamour is Golden Estee Lauder, simply because both these sets (featured above)are so NEW.

I can use both warm and cool colors pretty well. In fact, from a confidence of "I can only use 10 out of 18 colors in Estee Lauder's Glamour Palette", I suddenly found I can use 17 colors safely. Only Tempting Mocha makes me feel as though I looked bruised.

I learnt to mix and match a lot. E.g. Sugar Biscuit as base, Hot Cinnamon is a lovely brown bronzy color which I found you can blend in the Maroon Berry Burst! And I am a fair gal, I use No. 1 Ivory shade of Chanel White Essential Foundation, so Brown actually suits me with a touch of maroon which I thought I would never be able to wear on its own! Blend these together and voila, you get a nice pinkish orange tone.

It looks perfect and very classy.

Back to ELIZABETH ARDEN RED DOOR MAKEUP SET.

Its brushes are kind of smaller than Glamour is Golden (Estee- not featured here as the gold-dust brushes are sitting prettily on my dressing table, used everyday by moi, but its eyeshadown colors are less of a challenge than Glamour is golden. I shall post two closeups since it was so difficult to find anywwhere in the net these two palettes before my buying decision.

The Warm Palette is on top of the Cool Palette. See below.

Ok you can save the two pictures above for reference. I know how frustrating it is to not have pictures to refer to while fantasising about the colors and wondering wherther to buy. But I was just thinking while Malaysia (I heard) has a purchase for purchase for this particular set, and in Singapore you can get this for $85 without purchase for purchase, which not get these 2?

I love the Lilac and Berry Pink, Baby Blue, Party, Golden Sun- Can wear all these on my own! This is unlike Glamour is Golden where I can only wear Candy Crave (Light Purple- not so bright pinkish purple like this E Arden one), Nude Fresco (Orange) and Tranquil Moon (Light Mauve).

Glamour is golden has no light blue (ugh) but it's peacock blue does give me a feeling of Glamour. I like light blue as it makes me feel like I can coordinate with all my clothes (mostly blue). And light blue is in this E Arden Package.

The fair skin I have makes me able to take any color! As what the Earden Staff members say. But it is true, . I revel and enjoy in my ability to take almost all colors (except Mocha Brown). I am really so lucky.

I haven't explored all options yet. I am saving this EArden set as Christmas, because Glamour is Golden is for Birthday period. My god, I actually made a hole in Peacock Blue (3 weeks daily usage of Glamour is Golden eye palette, and simply on a HIGH, despite having only 3 colors that I can wear on its own). The mixing and blending of all the different colors must probably be done right, otherwise I would have felt lousy like last year in 2009 where there were fewer colors (only 15) to play with : and very boring colors too.

Estee Lauder GLAMOR IS GOLDEN 2010 MAKEUP REVIEW

LE MAQUILLAGE DE ESTEE LAUDER

Do you know that.......other than teaching,
Makeup is my passion.

Suggestions on Estee Lauder Glamor is Golden (2010) Eyemakeup:
(My lovely mum gives me something like this every year)

Looks: (Suggestions coming from a Fair Skin, Chanel White Essential Lightest Foundation Shade Lady)

1. Silver Bell 48 as Base, and Peacock Blue 73 as eyelid crease color: Effect: Smoky Blue Look

2. Polished Plum as Base (43) and Provocative Plum (14) as eyelid crease color. Effect: Plum Brown

3. Browny Look: Sugar Biscuit SATIN as base and Hot Cinnamon (35) on inner eye and Wild Sable (04) on outer eye: Total Brown Look.

4. Tranquil Moon (13) OR Candy Crave (66) as a Pretty Light Pink Base, and on the eye creases, add the two dull greens (Enchanted Forest) 71 and Safari Green (44) : and voila, you may be surprised at how beautiful and classy the look is.
I WAS VERY SURPRISED. i do not like dark green.

4: These colors are the most worthwhile: Can be used on their own and look pretty!
Candy Crave (66): This is the light purple color you see in the picture (top row)
Nude Fresco (47): This is the orangy color you see in the picture (bottom row)
Tranquil Moon (13): This gives a very sweet, mauve effect esp if you apply more.

5. These are confirmed Bases that can be used with any darker shade:
      Ivory Slipper 10 (Peachy)
      French Vanilla 65 (Light gold)
      Sugar Biscuit   60 (Light Brown)

Warning: Do not use Tempting Mocha (63) in any way if you have the same skin shade as myself, else you will end up with a bruised look.
